The 2013-2014 NFL season will see seven new head coaches across the league. For the second year in a row a little less than one fourth (about 22%) of the jobs turned over. Only one Andy Reid in Kansas City, is a rebounder (has been a head NFL coach before.) Two of them, Skip Kelly in Philadelphia and Doug Marrone in Buffalo are direct-from-college jumpers, which is often the kiss of death for a new NFL head coach. I have developed a “Success Predictability Grid” which compares any new coach or prospect with the qualities of the All Time best ever. Some of these new guys will probably do just fine, but I wouldn’t bet on all of them.
